About Us

Fern Bridge Farm was established in 2020 in North Ferrisburgh, VT. Taking care of the land is important to owner Kelly, as a 7th generation Vermonter, so much care and extensive planning goes into maintaining her flock of Shetland sheep for both the health and wellbeing of the animals and land. Her sheep are raised only for their beautiful wool, which comes in eleven natural colors, and all wool is processed at Vermont woolen mills and then dyed on the farm, using low-impact acid dyes, natural plant extracts, and plants grown on the farm. Fern Bridge Farm offers yarn, felting kits, fiber arts lessons, and educational farm experiences.  Shepherdess Kelly's many years of knitting, crocheting, and spinning allow her to work with the mills to produce the absolute best yarn to suit the fine Shetland wool.

Kelly has a B.S. Degree from the University of Vermont in Animal Science.  Her specialization was equine reproduction many years ago, but has now shifted gears and will be using her education to breed and care for her flock of Shetland sheep.  Keep an eye on the website and our Instagram feed for announcements about wool, fleeces, yarn, classes, and more that will be coming in the future!
